Lang announces the availability of Ultimate Speaker Connectors (USC), dual insulated, six-way binding posts. The posts are unplated brass with 10 by 32 studs, featuring non-captive hex thumb-nuts, which permit the use of Y-inch ring terminals. They mount in Y4-inch holes on standard %-inch centers. One set (two dual connectors) includes four OFHC ring terminals; price is $12. For a free brochure describing the Ultimate line, contact K.E. Lang, 6501 Lancret Hill Cir., Austin, TX 78745 4713, (512) 441-3479. Fast Reply #AD201 Epicure Products displayed Thorens' up dated line of turntable products at the Winter CES. The TD 280 and 300 series of turntables feature cosmetic improvements, and the TP 28 tonearm (previously available only on an earlier model TD 280), which has been modified and uses new precise ball bearings to further reduce any vibration and resonance tendencies. Fast Reply #AD778 Leads Metal Products, has introduced the model 7100, Endeco Temperature Controlled Solder Station. Temperatures are set accurately and quickly with a push-button control, and maintained through a closed-loop thermocouple sensor. Designed to solder at 20W (450 700 °F), the station has adequate thermal capacity to handle larger lugs and leads because of the 20W/40W switching ability. The unit is housed in a durable, steel, industrial nylon-coated case. Leads Metal Products manufactures Endeco soldering products and proto types. Fast Renlv #AD222 Analog Devices makes its debut in digital audio with an 18-bit DAC that re quires no external components. The proprietary monolithic AD1860 is designed for CD players, DAT players and recorders, synthesizers, amplifiers and key boards. Fabricated on a single biMOS chip and housed in a 16-pin DIP, this DAC includes a voltage reference, volt age-output amplifier, switching circuitry, laser-trimmed thin-film resistors and digital logic interface. The integration of these features eliminates the need for as many as 24 external components. The AD1860 is pin for pin compatible with popular 16-bit audio DACs. A companion 16-bit audio DAC is also available. Like the AD1860, the AD1856 is a biMOS monolithic device with low THD + N specifically designed for con sumer audio applications. It is a pin compatible replacement for the PCM56. The AD845 FET-input op amp features a typical settling time of 0.35usec to 0.01% (for a 10V step) into a 5000/ 100pF load. THD below 0.0001% makes this device well suited to driving high speed ADCs and DSP system front ends, and for critical aspects of high-performance sample/hold circuit designs. A monolithic device, the AD845 replaces hybrids in many applications at lower cost. This unity-gain stable, internally compensated IC is designed for AC performance for high-speed precision data acquisition systems. For DC performance, the input offset voltage has a maximum value of 250uV with drift of less than 5uV/°C. The AD 708 dual bipolar op amp offers stable performance over tempera ture. In addition to the ultra-low drift, precision specifications between the two op amps are matched. Each amp is similar to Analog Devices' AD707. Also, maximum offset voltages and drifts are matched to within 25uV and 0.3uV/C?°. The AD708 is available in an 8-pin mini DIP, hermetic cerdip or TO-99 can. Prices are $11.50/100, S grade. Prices for the AD1860 and AD1856 begin at $19.50 and $10.70/1000. Delivery of samples is from stock. OEM orders are 8-12 weeks. For inquiries write to Analog Devices Literature Center, 70 Shawmut Rd., Canton, MA 02021, or call (617) 935 5565 for applications information.
